Coronavirus

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION*

You will now be aware that, in line with advice issued by the Prime Minister on Monday, the Presbyterian Church yesterday asked congregations to suspend all gatherings including Sunday services. This is an unprecedented move that reflects the enormity of the emergency we find ourselves in. This obviously has big implications for us as a church family.

The principal one is that we will be unable to meet together to worship for a time. Such gatherings lie right at the heart of who we are as a church and I know that you will share our grief at these circumstances. Any alternative to being together in worship and fellowship is a very poor substitute.

Pastoral care is more important than ever. It will need to be delivered in a different way for the foreseeable future. Please understand that elders will not be able to visit in homes. We invite you to ask for help if needed. Please contact your district elder if:
– You are feeling anxious or isolated due to these unique circumstances. It is good to talk and Philip or your elder would want to encourage you with Scripture and pray for you over the phone.
– You find yourself having to self-isolate for the prescribed period and need practical help such as shopping being delivered to your home.
– You fall into economic difficulty because of a loss of income. We would want to help in practical ways.

Please know that as a Kirk Session we are keeping the situation under review and our commitment and hope is to resume services and other gatherings as soon as possible.

The important thing is that while these circumstances may keep us physically apart, they cannot break the bonds that bind us together in Christ.

Please seek to care for one another and know that we as a Kirk Session love you and are committed to care for you. We will continue to proclaim the good news of God’s love for us in Christ who said:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:27
